Edward Knowles
Edd graduated in 2005 and after brief stint in small animal practice joined Bell Equine Veterinary Clinic in 2007 as a hospital intern. Edd remained in practice at Bell Equine until 2025. During that time he completed a residency (jointly with the RVC) in 2013 and a part-time PhD into risk factors for laminitis in 2021. Edd has continued his research into laminitis and metabolic disease together with post-doctoral research at the RVC into Atypical Myopathy. Earlier this year Edd joined Mars Horsecare as the Global director of Science and Nutrition through which he remains actively involved in equine clinical research across several broad areas with particular interests in endocrinology, ageing and muscle disease.
